Therapy Services, LLC

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering individual therapy services to adults.

I grew up outside of Austin, TX and knew from a young age that I was a natural caretaker, whether I wanted to be or not. That fact was further set in stone following a significant loss that inspired me to start reading everything I could find about mental health and substance use treatment. After reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, I set my sights on being a chemical dependency counselor but elected to study social work because it offered a broader variety of helping professions. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in Addiction Studies from The University of North Texas and my Master’s Degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. I have experience in multiple departments of an acute care psychiatric facility and several years of private practice at a mental health/tech start-up and virtual care company based in Killeen, TX. My favorite part of therapy is the relationship I get to form with each and every one of my clients.

As someone who believes that strong, sincere rapport can eliminate almost any limitation in therapy, my focus doesn’t lie most heavily on treatment modalities; instead, I prioritize the client-therapist relationship, which acts as the foundation of the therapeutic experience. If you don’t feel confident that I hear you, see you, invest in you, or even remember you from week to week, then you likely won’t trust me to be the companion that walks beside you as you heal. As silly as it may sound, I love holding onto details like your aunt’s name, your dog’s morning routine, the fact that you set your husband’s pajamas out for him every afternoon, and the misprint on your tissue holder that says “feel you love.” I also consider myself to be particularly funny so I’ll do my best to make you laugh and I’ll be absolutely tickled if you can make me laugh too. I don’t judge but I do confront. I’m also open to you confronting me - if my approach isn’t working or if you need any kind of clarification, I want to know so that we can become an even better team.

In my free time, I snuggle up with my three dogs and my husband (when he lets me!), craft with my Cricut, shop for too much home decor, watch tv and play Nancy Drew computer games. My favorite ways to relax are listening to a music box that plays a song from Moana, plopping one of the puppies on me as a weighted blanket, and sitting in the hammock in my backyard overlooking the tree line… as long as it’s no warmer than 70 degrees outside. Otherwise I’ll stare longingly at the hammock through a window.
